Our Data and AI team is at the heart of innovation, building AI and ML applications that enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and create a foundation for future innovations. we are seeking passionate and driven individuals who are eager to make a significant impact and be part of a small technical team. By following industry best practices, we develop end to end AI applications on top of modern data and AI architectures, making sure our AI products don't end up just being a POC and drive sustainable value in production.

The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving end-to-end data solutions that power analytics, experimentation, and AI/ML use cases across Apotea.

This is a product-oriented data engineering role. You will work closely with ML engineers, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure that data is trustworthy, well-modeled, and usable — from real-time ingestion to analytics dashboards and machine learning models in production.

You will take ownership across the full data lifecycle: data collection, modeling, validation, transformation, and consumption. You will help enable A/B testing, understand and communicate business metrics, and turn data into insights and concrete actions.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Data Ownership:

• Design, build, and operate end-to-end data pipelines used for analytics, A/B testing, and AI/ML use cases.

• Take responsibility for the long-term evolution of data solutions, not just initial delivery.

Data Modeling & Analytics Enablement:

• Design high-quality analytical data models that support business metrics, experimentation, and decision-making.

• Understand business KPIs and translate them into robust, trustworthy data models.

Real-Time & Event-Driven Data:

• Collaborate with software engineers to design and implement real-time and event-driven data collection pipelines.

• Ensure ingestion pipelines are scalable, cost-efficient, and resilient.

Data Quality, Validation & Reliability:

• Implement continuous data validation and quality checks (freshness, volume, schema, distributions).

• Define and monitor data SLAs/SLOs.

• Build strategies for backfills, reprocessing, and safe recovery from data issues.

• Ensure data consumers can trust the data they use.

Platform Maturity & Engineering Excellence:

• Contribute to the evolution of Apotea’s data platform architecture.

• Balance pace and quality, making conscious trade-offs between speed and long-term maintainability.

• Improve standards, tooling, and best practices across the data platform.

• Work with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code to ensure reproducible and reliable deployments.

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong experience as a Data Engineer working with end-to-end data solutions.

• Deep understanding of data modeling for analytics and data-driven products.

• Experience with lakehouse architectures and modern analytical stacks.

• Experience building data pipelines used for analytics, A/B testing, and AI/ML.

• Ability to understand business metrics, communicate insights clearly, and drive actions from data.

• Solid understanding of data quality, validation, and observability.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).

• Strong software engineering mindset: readable code, testing, versioning, and ownership.

• Ability to balance fast delivery with long-term data platform maturity.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, product-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with A/B testing platforms or experimentation frameworks.

• Exposure to MLOps or feature store concepts.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming systems.

• Experience with AWS and cloud-native data platforms.

• Familiarity with API/Event-first design and Test Driven Development (TDD).
